Hey Ya Never Know!

You might have already heard that we had another celebrity sighting at Lima’s Taste. The beautiful Julianne Moore stopped by the theater to show her support for David Duchovny’s new play “Breaking Noon”. After a wonderful show she stopped by for some Pisco Sour’s, a quick chat and was gracious enough to have a mini photo shoot with my friend Nelly, the owner of Lima’s Taste and our patrons. You see, you never know who you’re gonna meet at Lima’s Taste!

Celebrity Sighting!

Guess who’s become a frequent celebrity sighting (and guest) at Lima’s Taste? I’ll give you a hint, he shot to fame in the 90s as the elusive Mulder and is recently on the hit Showtime series, Californication. Oh c’mon, you know who I’m talking about. The very sexy David Duchovny!

He’s currently starring in “Break of Noon,” the new play by Neil Lebute which happens to be right across from our de-lish restaurant! Come on by, grab some grub and bring your camera. You never know who you’ll see at Lima’s Taste!

It’s me again! Your sassy guest blogger here to inform you of everything that your missing at Lima’s Taste. We’ve got major ”happenings” coming up this Holiday season and I think you’re gonna like it!

It’s no surprise that Holiday shopping is on your mind right after Thanksgiving. The huge companies have Black Friday to give you crazy good deals, the internet has Cyber Monday to throw deep discounts at you and now small business’ like Lima’s Taste have a day all to themselves, Small Business Saturday (Nov. 27)!

 In between all this shopping and saving it’s best to stop into Lima’s Taste to de-stress with a warm hearty meal and a nice glass of their de-lish Sangria. What’s better than that? How about the Sangria is on the house! You heard me, come in any time on November 27th for a free glass of Sangria with your meal.  After you’ve refueled you can head out to tackle your shopping list in stores like Marc Jacobs, Steve Madden and Juicy Couture right around the corner! I don’t know about you but I’ll be there with bells on!

Lima’s Taste at Chelsea Market

Lima’s Taste is now in the Chelsea Market teaming up with T Salon, one of the most prestigious tea salons in the country.  There will be sit down and to go service.  The menu will feature ceviche, quinoa dishes, and causas (seasoned mashed potato balls stuffed with avocado and a choice of chicken, tuna, shrimp or vegetaian salad.  Don’t forget the lamb stew. Look forward to seeing you there.

Live Music Pornoson apearing every Thursday at Lima’s Taste

Get read for the latin answer to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Every Thursday the latin/rock group Pornoson apears starting at 9pm. Lots of fun, drink and rhythem.  See you at Lima’s Taste 122 Christopher Street–New York’s first ceviche bar and Peruvian restaurant.  You must  try a Pisco Sour!!!!!

Rib Time

Ribs are among the most succulent food items one can experience in a restaurant or at a home BBQ.  At Limas Taste we bring you some of the most tasty ribs you will ever experience.  They are basted in a non sticky blend of Panca pepper, olive oil and vinegar.  They are slow cooked and finished ff on the grill.  They are then laid over a bed of yucca with seassoned onions.  If you like ribs–you must experience this.

Where Have The 20 Somethings Gone?

As the owner of Lima’s Taste Peruvian Restaurant I spend a lot of time on the floor and by instinct take mental and completely unscientific demographic notes.  Yes the economy is down and people are not eating out as much, but most noticeable is the effect it’s having on that ever so jubilent bunch “the 20 somethings”.  I miss them.  There was something special about the bouyancy they would automatically add as a group of  5 or 8 of them would come in and laugh and raise the volume level of the establishment.  They also tend to be the most curious about the food–many questions.  It’s a delight to know that someone’s curious and must find out “what is ceviche?”  “Why does this food taste like something I’ve never tasted before?”  Hey 20m somethings–we’ll  see you soon when the economy straightens out, and may the greedy stupid bastards who caused this mess go to their home in hell.
